We asked Privilee Member Matt to give us his rundown on House of Athletes. Here’s how he starts his mornings, and why this space works so well for him.
I live in Amwaj, so I don’t have to go far. Most mornings, I’m out the door before the island’s even awake. Just me, a coffee, and a five-minute drive to House of Athletes.
It’s become part of my rhythm. Not just a gym, it’s where the day starts properly.
6:00am | Before the noise
There’s something about walking in early. It’s quiet, clean, and still – light coming through the windows, marina views outside. A few regulars, but mostly it’s just space to think. That’s the point.
Feels like a reset every time.

6:15am | Just the work
I’m not chasing trends. No overcomplicated circuits or guessing what to do next. I’ve trained long enough to know what works – big lifts, conditioning, moving with intent, done.
The gym floor here is set up perfectly – sled track, ski ergs, cable machines, barbell racks, assault bikes. Everything is laid out, clean, and purposeful. You can tell it’s been designed by people who get it. Even the natural light hits right. That view over the boats doesn’t hurt, either.
It’s the kind of place that pushes you. Not with hype, but by how well it works.

7:15am | Reset
Once I’m done, I head upstairs. The changing rooms feel more boutique hotel than a gym – dark wood, black tiles, full-length mirrors. Intentional design.
It’s quiet. No rush. Just time to reset, shower, and switch gears for the rest of the day.
7:45am | Refuel, then go
I don’t leave without a shake. It’s part of the ritual now – I grab one from the coffee bar, a quick nod to the staff (always on point), and I’m back in the car by 8:00am.
Emails, meetings, and everything else happen after this.
This comes first.
Fridays feel different
Weekdays, it’s straight in, train, out. Fridays – different energy. More people, familiar faces, and quick catch-ups. A real sense of community.
I’ll usually train Friday morning, then grab coffee and head to the beach. It’s a rhythm that works – grounded, simple, clear.

Why it works
For me, it’s about consistency. Having a space that’s not just well-designed, but built to perform. The right kit, the right flow, no chaos. Just clean, high-performance energy.
It fits into my life seamlessly. And that’s rare to find.
